To meet the increasing demand for high-voltage power cables , NKT is currently investing in a new cable-laying vessel and establishing the world ’ s largest factory for high-voltage subsea cables in Sweden .

To address the growing demand for high-voltage power cables , NKT is investing around EUR1.3 billion in a state-of-the-art cable-laying vessel and constructing the world ’ s largest high-voltage subsea cable factory in Karlskrona , Sweden .
Darren Fennell , Executive Vice President HV Solutions Karlskrona , said at the end of 2024 : “ As the year comes to an end , it is time to reflect . This year , we made significant progress on the investment at our Swedish high-voltage factory in Karlskrona . With milestones like our third extrusion tower reaching 200 metres , the second tallest in the Nordics , and the progress of our new cablelaying vessel , NKT Eleonora , we continue to expand our production and installation capacity . This allows us to meet the increasing demand for power cable systems .”
