Google Cloud lands partnership with Air France-KLM
Google Cloud has announced a strategic collaboration with Air France-KLM , to help the airline leverage the power of its data , analytics and Gen AI technology to accelerate its data-centric and multicloud strategy .
Through the enhancement and growing value of its data , and its AI and Gen AI strategy , Air France-KLM intends to boost the travel experience and satisfaction of its customers with more personalised offerings ; optimise its operations on the ground and in the air ; simplify the internal use of data and Gen AI technology ; and foster overall business and employee innovation .
Air France-KLM has engaged in a major transformation of its three legacy data centres toward a multi-cloud strategy . Moving applications to the cloud and accelerating data value and insights , Air France-KLM will leverage Google Cloud ’ s data and analytics tools , including BigQuery . With Google Cloud ’ s commitment to security and privacy , Air France- KLM will maintain full ownership and control of its data , while improving time-to-market , innovation , and less data processing latency to better serve its business units in their digital journeys .

Nokia completes sale of Alcatel Submarine Networks to French State
Nokia has announced the conclusion of the sale of Alcatel Submarine Networks ( ASN ), a leading submarine networks business , to the French State , represented by the Agence des participations de l ’ Etat .
The transaction was completed on December 31 2024 . Nokia retains a 20 % shareholding with board representation to ensure a smooth transition until targeted exit , at which point it is planned for the French State to acquire Nokia ’ s remaining interest .
With the sale of ASN , which is a successful , non-core standalone business , Nokia will be able to focus its Network Infrastructure portfolio on growth opportunities in its core markets . Together with the planned acquisition of Infinera , the divestment demonstrates Nokia ’ s active management of its business portfolio , one of the company ’ s six strategic pillars .
Beginning with the second quarter 2024 , Nokia has accounted for ASN as a discontinued operation .
ASN is a French and global submarine communication networks leader , uniquely positioned in turnkey systems . It grew significantly under Nokia ’ s stewardship and is positioned to continue benefiting from the growth of the large and attractive subsea cables market .
Recognising the importance of ASN ’ s heritage , operations and relationships with its key stakeholders , the French State has made clear its full support for ASN ’ s management and strategy , and has agreed to maintain investment in the ASN business and to support the further sustainable development of its vertically integrated technology offering .
