Atos UK and Ireland recognised as a Times Top
50 Employer for Women in 2019
A
tos, a global leader in Digital Transformation, is proud to have
been recognised as a Times Top 50 Employer for Women
2019. The company has been included for its suite of targeted
actions in the primary areas of attraction and recruitment,
retention and progression, culture and inclusion, monitoring and
accountability and best practice. This holistic approach is aimed at
providing an environment in which women can flourish and fulfil
their career aspirations in a supportive environment within Atos UK
and Ireland.
Some of the steps the company has taken to improve gender
diversity within the context of an industry in which male
representation traditionally formed the workforce majority, include:
Adrian Gregory, Atos Global Senior Executive Vice President and CEO
UK&I, said: “Strengthening gender equality and ensuring we promote
an environment where female colleagues can thrive forms a key part of
the broader diversity programme we are undertaking. Our focus is on
attracting, recruiting and developing a high-performing workforce.”
Chloe Chambraud, Director of Gender Equality at Business in the
Community, said: “Historically, companies focused on policies
and processes to address the inequality and bias that employees
face on a daily basis. But this is not enough. It is only by changing
the culture and promoting positive behaviours from the top that
employers will see real change and we look forward to supporting
them on this journey.”
• Targets for increased representation of women from graduate to
board level and supportive measures to enable this
• Senior leaders as sponsors for women wishing to develop
their careers
• Support networks such as AtosAspire – an Atos gender diversity
network that forms part of the Atos Diversity Networks to
recognise, develop and raise awareness around diversity and
inclusion in the workplace
• Extensive family friendly policies and benefits

Nokia and Nordic Telecom launch world first
network of its kind
N
okia and Nordic Telecom have launched
the world’s first Mission Critical
Communication (MCC)-ready LTE network
in the recently opened up 410-430 MHz
band. As a result of Nokia’s advanced and
future-proof mobile broadband solution, the
Czech operator, Nordic Telecom, will be able
to jumpstart public protection and disaster
relief efforts with innovative services only
possible on mobile broadband networks.
LTE-based critical communications that
enables real-time video and data services
is the biggest need of disaster relief
responders around the world. On top of the
mission critical requirements, high security,
high data rate and low latency, the public
safety community also requires wide area
coverage, which is best supported by low
frequency bands.
With the recently opened 410-430 MHz
band that can now serve as a dedicated

mission-critical grade service availability and
security. Our solution will now enable a new
segment of services on the market, opening a
new cooperation in the ecosystem of critical
communication networks.”
Jan Cornej, Investment Manager, Nordic
Telecom, said: “As a pioneer in this space,
we are looking forward to proving to the
market that modern and new generation
MCC services can be provided on an LTE
network. We are very happy to announce our
cooperation with Nokia which is providing us
with a completely secure and future-proof
solution, dedicated local team, technical
advisory and professional services.”
Ales Vozenilek, Country Head for Czech
Republic at Nokia, said: “The superior capacity
and throughput performance of LTE allows
first responders to leverage applications, like
video, to be better informed and act faster.
