IOT PERFORMANCE FAILURES
PLAGUE 64% OF USERS
WORLDWIDE AS CLOUD
COMPLEXITY SURGES
People are becoming more familiar with innovative
technology and IoT is one that not only business users
are getting to grips with, but consumers are now
utilising it in the home, on the road and in healthcare.
However, utilising this technology potentially brings
with it many complex challenges that users must be
prepared for or they risk being left behind.
F
ifty-two percent of consumers
worldwide are now using Internet of
Things (IoT) devices, yet 64% of those
have already encountered performance
issues – according to a global survey of
10,000 consumers, announced by software
intelligence company, Dynatrace. On
average, consumers experience 1.5 digital
performance problems every day and 62%
of people fear the number of problems they
encounter will increase due to the rise of IoT.

For organisations deploying IoT strategies,
these results indicate a critical need to
master two things:
• Firstly; escalating IT complexity, thanks
to new cloud technologies, microservices
and the pressure to innovate faster
• Secondly; the necessity to construct well-
planned IoT monitoring and performance
strategies to ensure sound application
delivery and a great digital experience
