PROJECT ROUND-UP

NETHERLANDS FINLAND
Nokia is partnering with ProRail to deploy the world’ s first cloudnative GSM-R core network, modernising the Netherlands’ railway communications. The four-year project enhances safety, reliability, and operational efficiency while extending the life of ProRail’ s 2G infrastructure. It paves the way for the Future Railway Mobile Communication System( FRMCS), which will deliver faster data and greater integration.
“ With the migration towards a cloud-native core network we lay the basis for the next 10 years of GSM-R operation and prepare for FRMCS,” said Geert Laureijssen, Manager Mobile Communications, ProRail.
Nokia will deliver its Cloud Platform, Assurance Center, Packet Core, Registers, and Data Center Fabric. The project also upgrades MantaRay NM, Archive Cloud, and the Nokia Network Services Platform, improving agility and reducing downtime.“ We are proud to support ProRail in this transformation,” said Emanuele Di Liberto, Head of Global Rail Business, Nokia.
The deployment sets a benchmark for Europe’ s Digital Transformation in rail.
Tecnotree has delivered a fully integrated, future-ready BSS ecosystem for Emtel, enhancing customer engagement, service delivery, and sales agility. The transformation spans Customer Lifecycle Management, Product & Order Management, Inventory & POS, Self-Care, and a Dealer Portal, all connected to Emtel’ s Convergent Billing System. The system improves dealer operations, simplifies point-of-sale processes and enables intelligent customer management with real-time insights. Enhanced automation ensures faster service resolution and operational control, helping Emtel deliver seamless, data-driven experiences.
Phase 2 will introduce AI-driven campaign intelligence, real-time event orchestration and omnichannel integration, including an automated Commission Management Program for dealers and agents.“ Our partnership with Emtel reflects Tecnotree’ s ability to deliver high-impact, future-proof digital ecosystems,” said Padma Ravichander, CEO, Tecnotree.
“ Tecnotree has been instrumental in helping us upgrade our digital backbone,” said Kresh Goomany, CEO, Emtel Mauritius. The collaboration strengthens customer loyalty and positions Emtel for long-term Digital Transformation leadership.
FRANCE
Dawex will power the Decade-X France project with its Data Exchange technology, creating a secure and sovereign digital ecosystem for aerospace and defence. The initiative connects over 10,000 organisations from OEMs to SMEs, to share trusted, compliant, and interoperable data products.
BULGARIA
GNM has expanded its Southeast European network with two direct routes to Sofia: one through Romania via Timișoara and another through Serbia, where it launched a new Point of Presence( POP) in Belgrade.
The project supports France 2030 and addresses industry challenges such as product development, supply chain resilience, traceability, conformity, and sustainability. Dawex’ s Industry Data Space solution enables seamless digital continuity and strengthens AI strategies while unlocking ecosystem-wide value.
“ We are proud to bring Dawex Data Exchange technology to the Decade-X France project,” said Fabrice Tocco, Dawex co-CEO.“ Our solution gives large organisations an immediate answer to overcome their most pressing business and operational hurdles.”
The Belgrade POP strengthens coverage and enhances routing control across the Balkan corridor. With these routes, GNM can deliver traffic to Sofia directly from Helsinki, Amsterdam, or Frankfurt, ensuring consistent quality and visibility.
“ Belgrade is a key piece of the puzzle,” said Alex Surkov, Head of Development at GNM.“ By adding a POP here, we’ re not only optimising our southern route to Sofia – we’ re reinforcing our longterm strategy of dense, controllable infrastructure across Europe’ s edge markets.”
Backed by partners including Airbus, Sopra Steria and Institut Mines-Télécom, Decade-X France demonstrates how Data Exchange can accelerate digital collaboration across critical industries while boosting resilience and innovation in Europe’ s aerospace and defence sector.
This expansion supports GNM’ s broader goal of extending its backbone into underserved regions, improving routing efficiency, and offering operators more predictable, independent transport options throughout Europe. The move boosts regional connectivity and positions GNM as a leader in resilient infrastructure.
