NORWAY
The OpenID Foundation( OIDF) has announced that Norway’ s HelseID, an identity and access management platform by the Norwegian Health Network( NHN), is the first nationwide healthcare system to fully deploy the FAPI 2.0 security profile. The implementation establishes a new global benchmark for API protection, extending beyond its traditional use in financial services.
NHN, a state-owned entity under Norway’ s Ministry of Health and Care Services, now mandates that all hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and municipal health services adopt this high-assurance standard. The move mirrors the robust security protocols found in leading digital banking ecosystems worldwide.
Gail Hodges, Executive Director of the OpenID Foundation, stated that NHN’ s decision to deploy FAPI 2.0 at a national scale in healthcare demonstrates the profile’ s maturity, scalability and security value in a real-world setting. She added that NHN’ s leadership illustrates to other health communities in both public and private sectors that FAPI 2.0’ s benefits are not limited to Open Banking, Open Finance and Open Insurance, where the protocols are currently widely used. NHN has also become the OpenID Foundation’ s newest member.

Deutsche Bank has collaborated with Silverflow to introduce a new cloud-native payments platform across Europe. The partnership aims to redefine card acquiring and digital payments. The integration has significantly reduced deployment times compared to traditional systems, accelerating merchant onboarding for Deutsche Bank. Authorisation rates have remained consistently high, even during peak transaction periods, safeguarding merchant revenues and reducing failed transactions.
The solution combines Silverflow’ s API-first, cloud-based platform for flexible card acquiring and individual BIN setups with Deutsche Bank’ s role as acquirer, offering optional PSP and cash management services. This allows merchants to customise transaction costs, settlement timings and risk parameters. Kilian Thalhammer, Global Head of Merchant Solutions at Deutsche Bank, highlighted the enhanced agility and prompt dispute resolution achieved through the partnership, enabling a unified banking, treasury and payments service. Robert Kraal, Co-Founder of Silverflow, affirmed that their platform enabled rapid merchant onboarding, maintained high authorisation rates and automated chargeback processes, demonstrating the transformative potential of modern payments infrastructure in banking.
