BT lands £ 10 million deal to bring lightning-fast broadband to hard-to-reach sites across Swansea Bay City Region

BT has announced the signing of a £ 9.8m contract to deliver full fibre broadband access to nearly 1,800 hard-to-reach sites across the Swansea Bay City Region.

BT has been awarded the contract for the Better Broadband Infill Project by Swansea Bay City Deal’ s Digital Infrastructure Programme, which will be delivered in close partnership with infrastructure supplier Openreach.
It will bring full fibre broadband access to 1,533 premises and an additional 256 sites across the four counties in the Swansea Bay City Region: Pembrokeshire, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire.
Cllr. Rob Stewart, Leader of Swansea Council and Chair of the Swansea Bay City Deal Joint Committee, said:“ This project is a game-changer for our region. By bringing high-speed Internet to areas that have been left behind, we are not only improving quality of life but also opening new opportunities for economic and social development.
Susi Marston, Head of Public Sector Wales at BT, said:“ Connectivity is at the heart of how people live and work today, but all of that relies on the right infrastructure being in place.
“ Access to reliable broadband is no longer a luxury; it’ s a necessity. This project will ensure that everyone in the Swansea Bay region can participate fully in the digital age.”

Version 1 signs € 102.7m deal with Ireland’ s Department of Education public facing services but will help streamline back-end processes and systems.”

Assistant Secretary General, Martin Clohessy, Major Operations in the Department of Education, said:“ I very much welcome the improved customer service benefits that will be provided to school employees, retirees and our school administrators. The Department looks forward to working closely with Version 1 to ensure the successful delivery of this very important programme of work.”

Version 1, a leader in AI and Digital Transformation, announced it has been awarded a significant contract of up to 15 years by the Department of Education Ireland, integrating the HCM and Payroll Software as a Service( SaaS) solution that will enable the timely, secure and accurate processing of payroll.
