EDITOR’ S NOTE

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Intelligent CIO Europe. This month’ s cover story, which can be found on page 54, features Bart Kerkhofs, CIO and Vice President of IT at Bridgestone EMEA. He explains how Bridgestone EMEA embarked on a major transformation, migrating to SAP S / 4HANA Cloud to enhance operations and fuel future innovation. With Syniti’ s expertise, the company navigated complex data challenges, achieving outstanding accuracy and efficiency to drive long-term growth in the tyre and mobility sectors.

He said:“ Our company is speeding up its transformation to be even more customer oriented, agile, efficient, data driven, sustainable and futureproof. This necessitates a comprehensive approach that encompasses all facets of our operations including upscaling our digital capabilities to elevate the overall stakeholder experience.
Dr Chris Royles, EMEA Field CTO at Cloudera; Burley Kawasaki, Global VP of Product Marketing and Strategy at Creatio; and Markus Nispel, CTO of EMEA at Extreme Networks, respond.
This month’ s Get to Know features Toby Parkins, Cofounder and Group CEO, Headforwards. He tells us about the management philosophy he employs in his current position.“ I’ ve always felt that, as a leader, it’ s important to set people up to succeed. When you’ re looking to scale or grow your business, it’ s essential to have access to expertise and experience. I try to empower people, but also ensure that they’ ve got the knowledge and are surrounded by knowledge,” he says.“ It’ s talked about a lot more these days but psychological safety in the workplace environment is extremely important. People should be able to feel like it’ s OK to say they don’ t know how to do something, or to challenge us and take sensible risks.”
“ Syniti was critical in helping us improve our approach to manage the data for our ambitious transformation effort. The Syniti team has proven they can do the hard things; their credibility was already established and we knew we could trust their Data First approach to achieve excellent results.”
