Snowflake to offer free training for 150 civil servants during ‘ Get Cloud Certified This Autumn ’ programme .

In collaboration with the Central Digital and Data Office ( CDDO ), the programme will see up to 150 civil servants become fully qualified SnowPro engineers , empowering them with the abilities needed to drive Digital Transformation in the public sector .

The Get Cloud Certified programme has an ambitious target of upskilling 90 % of senior civil servants and is open to anyone with a public sector email address , including workers at the NHS , police and government organisations . programme will soon launch a yearround initiative around cloud training and certification programmes .

Snowflake is already helping large public sector institutions in the UK to deal with challenges such as allowing government and healthcare institutions to retain control of data at near-unlimited scale . Snowflake works with organisations as diverse as NHS Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership and the Met Office .

Snowflake ’ s investment in the programme – with its SnowPro certification rewarding an individual ’ s knowledge to apply specific core expertise implementing and migrating to Snowflake – will help the Civil Service to deal with critical challenges around training and recruitment . The Civil Service Digital Skills Survey found that over 75 % of civil servants want to receive more digital skills training .

The number of digital and data specialists in government has already nearly doubled in the past five years , from 2.8 % in 2018 to 5 % in 2023 , as the government becomes one of the largest digital and data employers in Britain .
