However , meeting the heightened expectations of boards and stakeholders is proving to be a daunting task .

Expereo ’ s Enterprise Horizons 2024 research , which polled 650 leading technology leaders globally , reveals that 64 % of global CIOs find it stressful to meet the growing technology demands of their businesses , with AI being a key source of both pressure and opportunity .

As AI continues to evolve rapidly , technology leaders are increasingly feeling the pressure to meet their organisations ’ growing expectations . AI is central to this pressure , with boards viewing it as a critical tool for driving both innovation and performance .
However , against this backdrop , many leaders face unrealistic demands from their organisations about what AI can achieve in the short term . Our Enterprise Horizons report reveals that 47 % of respondents believe their board has inflated expectations about AI ’ s immediate impact on international business performance .
