Telefónica and DIGI have signed a new long-term mobile network agreement to extend a successful reliable relationship . This valuecreating agreement has a duration of 16 years and strengthens the ties between the two companies by optimising the return on their network investments .
The agreement represents an evolution of the current mobile access contract , consolidating a successful and trusting relationship that will result in Telefónica ’ s provision of National Roaming and RAN Sharing services . With this new agreement , Telefónica increases its sustainability by ensuring a long-term revenue stream in line with the existing one . At the same time , the fixed broadband wholesale agreement has also been extended .
DIGI benefits from efficient and cost-effective use of its new spectrum assets . In addition , by promoting infrastructure sharing , Telefónica will further boost the effective use and deployment of its
NGN mobile networks .

Eviden , the Atos Group business leading in digital , cloud , Big Data and security , has announced it is supporting the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne ( URCA ) through training initiatives to raise awareness of the challenges of Quantum Computing .
URCA will draw on Eviden ’ s long-standing expertise in the sector , through its Qaptiva offering . The University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne ( URCA ) is acting on behalf of the MesoNET project , which brings together 20 regional computing centres across
France , and is led by GENCI .
VodafoneZiggo , one of the Netherlands ’ leading communications service providers , has selected Amdocs to modernise and migrate its monetisation engines to the public cloud . Furthermore , VodafoneZiggo has also extended its managed services agreement with Amdocs for an additional two years , ensuring the operational smooth-running of these mission-critical systems .
Under the agreement , Amdocs will modernise VodafoneZiggo ’ s monetisation engines to cloud-ready and cloud-native solutions , and migrate the operator ’ s business support systems environment , including both Amdocs and non-Amdocs applications , to the public cloud . With its scalable , secure , and cost-efficient infrastructure , this migration will lay the foundation for standalone 5G readiness , bolster VodafoneZiggo ’ s business resiliency , and accelerate time to market for innovative new services and offerings .

A private 5G network-enabled Innovation Lab is set to transform the Port of Blyth into the North East of England ’ s premier technology hub , providing unprecedented access to 5G technology for industries in the North East region .
The MesoNET ecosystem will thus be able to take advantage of Eviden ’ s experts ’ dual knowledge of technology and industrial issues , to train researchers and professionals alike .
Boldyn Networks , a leader in shared communications infrastructure , will create a dynamic environment for businesses of all sizes to develop and test 5G-based products , driving growth and innovation in the region ’ s key sectors , including the offshore renewable energy ( ORE ) sector .
Funded by over half a million pounds investment from the North East Combined Authority ’ s 5G Innovation Acceleration programme , Boldyn Networks will design and build a secure , high-bandwidth private 5G network . This network will serve as a testing ground for Industry 4.0 and businesses to test new ideas , learn about 5G and develop solutions before costly investment is needed .
