Viasat has demonstrated a UK satellite-based augmentation system ( UK SBAS ) for the first time , showing how highly accurate GPS data can maximise safety and improve efficiency .
ArcelorMittal France , a leading steel and mining company , has been working with Getac since 2020 and continues to place its trust in Getac ’ s total rugged computing solutions .
The test flight , flown from Cranfield Airport using the National Flying Laboratory Centre ’ s Saab 340B aircraft , showcased a UKbased SBAS that delivers more precise , reliable navigation data .
The UK is no longer part of the EU ’ s similar European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service ( EGNOS ), following its exit from the European Union . While EGNOS can still be used for non-safety applications in the UK , the trial aims to provide a first step toward a complementary UK SBAS which can be used for critical safety of life navigation services across air , land and sea .
To carry out its maintenance and production operations , the Dunkirk site in France uses not only rugged tablets but also docking stations and vehicle power adapters as well as remote antennas attached directly to the machines .
Getac ’ s fully rugged F110 and A140 tablets are suited for use in materials handling equipment that is subject to strong vibrations , heat or dust , as well as intensive use of the screen .
By equipping itself with Getac F110 and A140 total solutions for the past three years , ArcelorMittal France benefits from IT solutions and accessories such as docking stations , chargers and remote antennas .

Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced the new Teamcenter SLM app on Salesforce AppExchange . Developed by Siemens in collaboration with Salesforce , the app connects product engineering and product service operations by bringing together the Teamcenter Service Lifecycle Management solution from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of industry software with Salesforce Manufacturing Cloud and Salesforce Service Cloud .
This new app enables manufacturers to adopt more service-centric business models , improve the customer experience and increase service revenue .
