Hexaware expands UK operations with new facility in Birmingham

Indian-owned Hexaware Technologies , a global provider of IT and digital solutions , has marked the next phase of its UK expansion by opening a new Birmingham-based facility , with plans to create 250 jobs .

The facility at Brindley Place was officially opened by West Midlands Mayor Andy Street , who took part in a ribbon cutting and traditional Indian lamp lighting ceremony .
Hexaware ’ s launch of its Birmingham base follows its move to establish a pilot facility in the city earlier this year to provide on-site support for several customers .
Since then , a surge in demand in areas such as application operations , End-User Computing ( EUC ) services and ServiceDesk support , has convinced Hexaware to step up its growth in the West Midlands while diversifying its portfolio of services .
The expansion plan forms a key part of the business ’ UK growth strategy , which is focused on establishing themselves as a trusted partner for innovative IT and digital services . The company is committed to scaling up its Birmingham facility to house 250 professionals by 2025 . The onboarding process for over 60 local employees is already underway , with plans to actively seek out additional top-tier talent to complement Hexaware ’ s growing team .
R Srikrishna , CEO at Hexaware , said : “ We want to deliver personalised services to our large and rapidly growing British customer base while helping build and improve the economy and talent in local communities . Birmingham and the Midlands , with their rich and diverse talent base , offer immense potential to meet both objectives .”

Trafford Council moves regulatory services to the cloud with Civica

Trafford Council , based in Manchester , England , is set to transform regulatory services for 235,000 residents via a new cloud software partnership with GovTech leader Civica .

A longstanding Civica customer , the council will bring in Civica ’ s Cx Regulatory Services platform in a new five-year contract . The new platform will help deal more efficiently with high priority areas including local business licensing , environmental health and trading standards .
Residents and businesses will be able to get answers to queries more quickly online thanks to a new customer portal . Increased automation means Cx will also capture data better and enable improved reporting and analytics to enhance decision-making and manage cases faster .
The communications engine will not only ensure better connected people but also reduce dependence on costly servers and enable council officers to spend more time on the front line .
Councillor Rose Thompson , Trafford Council ’ s Executive Member for Communities and Safety , said : “ At a time when our budget is being stretched so thinly , the new Civica platform provides excellent value for money . It will be better for residents and businesses as they can get their queries answered more efficiently while also improving our council-wide regulatory services . Joining up all our data in the cloud will help us see trends in our communities which allow us to plan and improve services for the future too .”
