The agreement will be fulfilled in partnership with N-Sea , a Dutch integrated subsea solutions service provider , specialising in survey ; IMR and construction ; subsea cable repair and installation ; and UXO identification and disposal .
Already a leader in submarine HV cable systems , Prysmian is steadily strengthening its portfolio to cover the entire project lifecycle , also through tailored solutions providing its customers with inspection , maintenance and repair services . IMR solutions are becoming a core element of Prysmian ’ s lifecycle management strategy with a view to reducing asset downtime , improving the reliability of the systems and optimising the total cost of ownership .
Prysmian Group , a leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry , signed a Service Level Agreement ( SLA ) with the German-Dutch transmission system operator , TenneT , to provide nearshore and offshore cable inspection , maintenance and repair services for TenneT ’ s HVDC and HVAC submarine power cables in the North Sea .
This new agreement , which will apply to all the already operational cable links , has a term of three years with an option for an additional extension . It will cover approximately 4,000 km of TenneT ’ s submarine cable systems located in the German and Dutch North Sea .
This agreement is the latest of a series of contracts granted by TenneT , which has recently awarded Prysmian the two grid connection projects IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Nederwiek 1 to support the Dutch Routekaart 2030 plans to reduce net GHG emissions and achieve the Netherlands ’ carbon neutrality targets .
Redbridge Council partners with Siemens and ubitricity to expand Redbridge ’ s EV network
The Council for the London Borough of Redbridge has announced it has partnered with ubitricity , one of the UK ’ s leading charge point operators with a network of more than 7,000 public charge points , to install 310 new on-street charge points .
Through the partnership , ubitricity – a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell – will install and manage the public charging infrastructure . The charge points will charge at a speed of up to 5kW and each take just under two hours to install , minimising disruption to the public .
The new public charge points have been funded through the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles ( OZEV ) and ubitricity , which further develops the borough ’ s EV infrastructure . The on-street charging points will give local people without the ability to charge on a private driveway increased confidence to make the switch to electric , knowing they can easily charge their EV using public infrastructure available across Redbridge . Installation of the first tranche of the 310 charge points is set to begin in September 2023 .
“ We want to make sure our borough is clean and green now and for future generations ,” said Cllr Jas Athwal , Leader of Redbridge Council . “ By making it as easy as possible for our neighbours to make the switch to electric vehicles , with 310 new on-street charge points coming to Redbridge , together we can improve local air quality and reduce the impact of climate change .” p
