Research highlights a growing need for technology stack unification
JumpCloud , a leading US software company , has released its 2022 IT Stack Unification Statistics and Trends report . The report surveyed IT professionals from small- to mediumsized enterprises ( SMEs ) across a range of sectors and highlighted a growing need for technology stack unification .

Other key findings highlighted IT budget expectations for next year :
• 74.2 % expect an increase
• Some ( 20.4 %) expect that it will remain the same
• A small proportion ( 5.4 %) expect a decrease
The report also found that the majority of respondents ( 48.9 %) said 10 – 25 % of their yearly IT budget goes towards licensing , while 3.6 % said that more than 75 % of their budget goes towards licensing .
From April 2021 – June 2022 , there was a major change in how and where employees worked . In April 2021 – during the pandemic – 40 % of employees were reportedly in-office , whereas in June 2022 , this number was nearly 50 %. Remote working increased to over 30 % in October 2021 , before decreasing in June 2022 .
These figures may be down to remote working making it harder for employees to follow reliable security practices . The report also found that :
• Only 36.6 % believed their accounts were centrally managed ; security measured being controlled by IT at all times
• Some ( 17.1 %) said that all accounts were unmanaged with security policies strictly enforced
