Information , products or services can be requested and paid for in Bitcoin or other digital currencies .

Corporate data breaches are becoming a regular occurrence . Facebook , TicketFly and Cathay Pacific Airlines were just some of the many organizations that suffered data breaches during 2018 and this comes at a cost .
A 2018 study by the Ponemon Institute – the 13th Annual Cost of Data Breach study5 – found that the global average cost of a data breach is up 6.4 percent over the previous year to $ 3.86 million .
