GTT connects Caroll’s European retail operations G TT Communications, a leading global cloud networking provider to multinational clients, has announced that womenswear brand, Caroll, a Vivarte company, has selected GTT to operate its wide area network in Europe. GTT connects Caroll’s French headquarters with its 173 stores in nine countries: Andorra, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. GTT provides secure MPLS and ADSL connectivity for Caroll’s online retail business and European stores. GTT also provides 4G wireless connectivity, enabling new stores to be up and running within 15 days. The secure, high- performance wide area networking solution utilises GTT’s global Tier 1 IP network. This accelerates the flow of mission-critical data, enabling improved inventory management and the speed of online ordering, positively impacting the client experience. “Caroll relies on GTT’s managed network expertise to connect our 173 stores and retail website with our headquarters in France,” said Frédéric Mayette, CIO at Caroll. “All our store orders flow across GTT’s network. A restocking calculation is done every night, but in 2020, shops will work in real time directly on the headquarters’ central system, which will be able to display the stock at any given moment. This real- time inventory view will enhance our multi- channel retail strategy, enabling us to rapidly receive, process and fulfil customer orders online or in person.” “We understand how important secure, resilient connectivity is to underpin a unified retail experience,” said Rick Calder, GTT President and CEO. “We are pleased to support Caroll’s retail operations with our leading cloud networking services that connect people across organisations, around the world and to every application in the cloud.” www.intelligentcio.com Boursorama stays loyal to NTT as it transforms its WAN NTT has replaced Boursorama’s MPLS- WAN with a next-generation SD-WAN N TT has announced a continuation of its established partnership between Boursorama, the company behind the Boursorama.com financial information portal and Boursorama Banque, France’s leading online bank and NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com). Following the launch of NTT Ltd. on July 1, 2019, which saw 28 brands within the NTT Group come together, including NTT Com, NTT has replaced Boursorama’s MPLS- WAN with a next-generation SD- WAN based on Silver Peak technology, supported by managed and cloud-mode services under a four-year contract. Boursorama Banque acquires 2,000 customers every day and regularly launches new services. The bank needed a high-performance WAN able to optimise the customer experience on web and mobile platforms. It also wanted to protect sensitive banking data and improve visibility of network usage. To achieve these objectives, NTT’s approach focuses on services and technology. The SD-WAN provides secure, fibre-based interconnection of Boursorama Banque’s sites in France and Europe, with end-to-end encryption. Delivered as a fully managed solution, the SD-WAN helps to simplify the bank’s control management strategy. A single interface and 24/7 orchestration of the network save time for the bank’s IT teams, allowing them to deliver new projects faster and focus on meeting business goals. “The NTT SD-WAN delivers the performance we need to ensure an outstanding customer experience on any device,” said Eric AZOULAY, Projects & Applications Manager at Boursorama. “The solution will support our ambitions to serve 3 million customers by 2021 and bring new services to market faster than ever before.” INTELLIGENTCIO 13
