Nokia and
AT&T launch
IoT innovation
studio in
Germany
N
okia and AT&T are delivering a new
Munich-based innovation studio to
support the growing global adoption of
current and next-generation Internet of
Things (IoT) solutions.
From connected cars and factories to
video analytics and future 5G-enabled
applications, the dedicated space will
demonstrate both current capabilities and
the future of global connected solutions.
The studio will allow companies to see
first-hand how IoT solutions can solve global
business problems. For example, they can
experience how technology can improve asset
management and tracking, as well as offer
predictive maintenance for equipment and
connected fleets. Customers can also learn
about the latest in connected car innovation,
alongside an interactive experience using
Augmented Reality to bring some of Munich’s
most famous landmarks to life.
T
enable, the cyber exposure company,
has acquired Tel Aviv-based company,
Indegy. The industrial cybersecurity
leader provides visibility, security and
control across operational technology
(OT) environments.
“For every company in every industry,
OT is now part of the modern attack
surface. CISOs are being asked to secure
OT systems alongside IT, but lack the
necessary visibility and technology to
manage and measure OT cyber-risk in
the same way as IT risk,” said Amit Yoran,
Chairman and CEO, Tenable.
“The combination of Tenable and Indegy
brings together two pioneers of IT
vulnerability management and industrial
cybersecurity to deliver the industry’s
first unified, risk-based view of IT and
OT security. This is a game changer that
will help transform how security and the
C-suite make strategic decisions around OT
risk. This acquisition is a critical milestone

in delivering on our cyber exposure
strategy to help organisations understand
and reduce cyber-risk across the entire
modern attack surface. Indegy extends
our depth of OT expertise and intelligence,
and our breadth of OT-specific capabilities
from vulnerability management to asset
inventory, configuration management
and threat detection. We look forward to
working with the Indegy team to help
the industry usher in the next wave of
IT/OT convergence.”
“When we started Indegy, we set out on
a mission to protect industrial networks
through a mix of cybersecurity expertise
and hands-on OT experience, developing
products which solve the hardest
industrial cybersecurity challenges,”
Barak Perelman, Co-founder and
CEO, Indegy, added. “We are excited
to accelerate this mission by joining
Tenable, a visionary IT cybersecurity
leader with a trusted brand and proven
track record of product innovation.”
More than just a demo space, the studio
will provide an opportunity for businesses
to meet with experts and collaborate on
solutions to global business challenges.
From design to engineering to product
development, a local team of experts from
AT&T and Nokia will help customers with
solutions that can improve operations,
provide better data analytics and, in many
cases, lower business costs.
The studio will also act as a hub for the next
generation of innovators. Bringing together
the right skills, expertise and advanced
technology, AT&T and Nokia’s intention is to
form close bonds with schools, universities and
the wider European technology ecosystem
to generate ideas for future IoT applications
across multiple industries and sectors.
