often attracts the headlines, inference is rapidly emerging as one of the most commercially valuable parts of the AI ecosystem because it represents the ongoing computational workload required to serve users in real time.
For European organisations, however, inference introduces significant concerns around privacy and governance.
Many enterprises remain wary of sending proprietary information, customer records or commercially sensitive data through infrastructure controlled by third parties. For organisations in sectors such as finance, healthcare and law, those concerns can have regulatory as well as operational implications.
TensorX argues that sovereign infrastructure provides a practical solution by ensuring that data remains within Europe and is processed under European legal frameworks.
The issue has gained additional prominence because of legislation such as the US CLOUD Act, which can compel US-headquartered cloud providers to provide customer data to American authorities regardless of where the information is physically stored.
For many European organisations, that creates uncertainty around data sovereignty and legal accountability.
