CASE STUDY
You’ ve built rare expertise at the intersection of tax, technology and global strategy. What originally drew you to this path, and what has kept you passionate about it?
Early on in school, I was torn between engineering and accounting, but I chose accounting because I wanted to understand how global commerce worked. At the same time, I’ ve always been fascinated by technology and its power to transform industries and societies. KPMG gave me the opportunity to qualify as both a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Adviser. This gave me flexibility to align my passion for technology with clients in the sector I was most drawn to, the TMT industry.
What keeps me passionate is the constant evolution – technology never stands still.
What keeps me passionate is the constant evolution – technology never stands still. My earlier career experiences, like traveling across Japan, Taiwan and Silicon Valley with my former partner and mentor at KPMG Ireland to meet some of the world’ s most innovative companies, showed me the power of collaboration and the scale of opportunity working across borders and disciplines. That experience has stayed with me, and since then, I’ ve spent much of my career serving and becoming a trusted advisor to leading global TMT companies on complex challenges at the intersection of tax, technology and strategy. The insights I’ ve gained along the way have led me to this moment, and I’ m honored to serve as KPMG’ s Global Head of TMT. advancing the firm’ s growth ambitions and delivering innovative solutions for clients navigating rapid technological change. I bring over 20 years of senior leadership experience advising many of the world’ s leading technology and media companies.
As I take on the Global TMT portfolio, my top priorities for the first year are to:
1. Build a single, connected global TMT team that brings the best of KPMG to our clients worldwide;
2. Strengthen alliances and ecosystem partnerships with leading technology providers to deliver innovative solutions to our clients; and
3. Position KPMG as the Partner of Choice for clients tackling major challenges such as digital transformation, GenAI and agentic AI adoption, regulatory change, cyber risk and workforce evolution by providing integrated, multidisciplinary support in consulting, deal advisory, tax, audit and legal, that drives measurable impact.
Over your 20 + years as a partner at KPMG, what has been the most significant challenge you’ ve had to overcome, and how did it shape the leader you are today?
Working in professional services is energising; you get to partner with wonderful clients, each with their own perspectives, expectations and ways of working and the unexpected does happen. Deadlines slip, proposals don’ t land, transactions change course. I treat those moments as learning opportunities. They’ ve shaped my leadership skills to remain calm, be patient, focus on the long game and resist overreacting to setbacks.
Equally, I invest in building strong, diverse teams; different backgrounds and viewpoints lead to better decisions and more resilient outcomes. Additionally, balancing work and family life has been a real challenge. I’ m a proud mum of three children who are now in their late teens; I’ ve been fortunate to mobilise the right support at key moments. Those experiences www. intelligentcio. com
