What do you think will emerge as the
technology trend of 2018 and why? Reading is a key way for me to unwind,
strangely reading about technology is
exciting, playing tennis helps as well.
Collaboration and artificial intelligence (AI) is
now everywhere and has set the foundation
for the next revolution. Computing
technology has grown leaps and bounds in
the last 25 years, the next phase is all about
optimising and adding more intelligence to
this raw power. We are starting to see the
use of AI to gain new strategic insights as
well as benefitting everyday activities.
How do you deal with stress and
unwind outside of the office?
If you could go back and change one
career decision, what would it be?
I wouldn’t change any career decisions I
have made to date, no regrets!
What are the region-specific
challenges when implementing new
technologies in Europe?
Privacy concerns are a major challenge for
everybody within our industry, especially as
communications is a heavily-regulated area
that is undergoing a period of change. In
addition, many of these laws are different
not just by region, but by country as well. n
The massive transformation of
communication that now encompasses
everything from the phone, to email,
to messaging and beyond, has made
collaboration an exciting new frontier. The
year 2018 onwards will be marked as a
period where the growing global business
economy will be fuelled by services like
WhatsApp, imessage, Glip and many others.

your industry?
